Our Commitment to you</span
Since 2002, Al-Eamar Foundation has been serving the people of The Gambia with one clear mission: to bring relief, dignity, and hope to those in need. With more than 20 years of grassroots experience and deep community trust, we ensure that your donations are used with sincerity, transparency, and maximum impact. From remote villages to urban communities, your generosity reaches those who need it most.
We are guided by the Islamic principle of Amanah (trust), knowing that every pound, dalasi, or dollar you donate is a sacred responsibility. We invest time, research, and field experience to ensure your donations are spent effectively, with integrity, and in ways that genuinely transform lives across the country.
Giving with Confidence
Al-Eamar proudly operates with a commitment to 100% charitable delivery. That means every donation (whether Zakat, Sadaqah, or general contributions) is used strictly for the purpose it was intended. For over 20 years, we’ve built a network of trained volunteers, reliable suppliers, and community-led initiatives to ensure aid reaches beneficiaries promptly and appropriately.
We strive to cover necessary administrative costs through dedicated admin donors, project-specific funding, and external grants—so your charity keeps doing what it’s meant to do: serve humanity.
Key Milestones & Transparency
- First registered Gambian charity to distribute Islamic veils at scale.
- Pioneers of Hajj trip sponsorships for underprivileged pilgrims.
- Active sponsors of Da’wah and community preaching programmes.
- Built and renovated over a dozen masjids across the country.
- Delivered clean water access to a dozen of communities.
- Reached thousands of orphans and children with food, education and healthcare.
Restricted & Unrestricted Donations
- Zakat & Specific Appeals – Treated as Restricted Funds and spent solely on the intended causes:e.g., Zakat to the eight eligible categories as outlined in the Qur’an.
- General Donations – Considered Unrestricted Funds, used where the need is greatest, from urgent emergencies to program development.
If a campaign receives excess or insufficient funds, our trustees apply careful discretion to redirect the surplus to similar projects or top-up from the general fund to complete a project—always keeping donor intention in mind.
Faith-Driven Giving
As a Muslim charity, we understand that giving is not only financial—it is spiritual. Through your donations, we promote acts of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity), like building wells, supporting Da’wah, and funding education that benefits future generations.
Why Transparency Matters to Us
Every donor deserves to see the impact of their giving. That’s why we provide:
- Detailed donor reports for major projects.
- Social media updates and real-time campaign tracking.
- Testimonials and visual feedback from beneficiaries.
We consider reporting back to you part of our charitable duty, not just admin work. It’s how we build trust, remain accountable, and uphold the transparency that is central to Islamic charitable ethics.
